AUSTRALASIAN WELLNESS ASSOCIATION LTD (ASWELL) – APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP
We congratulate you for becoming accepted by ASWELL for Salon Select. The objective of ASWELL is to uplift our industry’s reputation, image and credibility.
Our constitution provides that a person can apply for membership of ASWELL if they are employed in the industry and have paid an annual membership fee. Cancellation of memberships under 12 months will incur a cancellation fee .
In addition to this, the person must have agreed to and completed the following before their ASWELL Salon Select status can be activated.
- The person must provide a guarantee of not more than $10.00 to cover any liabilities or expenses that may arise in the event that ASWELL is wound up or dissolved;
- The person must have their Application for Membership accepted by the Board of ASWELL; and
- The person’s name must be entered into the Register of Members.
By signing up to a Membership means you have agreed to these Terms and Conditions.

ASWELL members are those visitors to the website who register their details with ASWELL, are approved by the Board for membership and pay their membership fees as they fall due.
Use of this website is subject to these terms of use.
These terms of use are governed by the laws with the provisions of the Act and any other relevant laws of New South Wales (NSW) and you irrevocably and unconditionally submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of NSW.
Membership & payment options (as at 31st December 2021 – subject to change without notice)
ASWELL is an industry association. Membership is restricted to those businesses actively involved in the Wellness industry.
THERE ARE VARIOUS ASWELL MEMBERSHIPS AVAILABLE:
– Corporate membership $19.80 inc gst per week
– Professional membership, price on application
*A Franchise or Group Membership is only available when all franchise or group members are all members of ASWELL. A business which is part of a franchise group, (but the group has not joined ASWELL), will need to meet the Corporate member conditions. This includes the salon needing to complete Silver accreditation before being approved to seek Gold salon select accreditation. Only Franchise and salon Groups are able to fast track to Gold accreditation.
The Salon Select membership fee is payable monthly via our automatic debit facility.
Your payments will continue unless:
1 – you decide to opt out with a minimum 60 days written notice. Cancellation fees will apply.
2 – The Australasian Wellness Association deems your membership should be terminated due to an un-corrected breach of any of the Salon Select standards, within 8 weeks of written notification of said breach; or other breach as per ASWELL Constitution.
ASWELL Membership fees are not transferable or refundable. Salon Select accreditation is not transferable on the change of ownership of a salon or associated business. New accreditation must be undertaken by the new salon owner within a two month period from changeover of ownership.
Associate Memberships are available to those suppliers of product and services to the hairdressing industry.
– Associate Members $295 inc gst; $595 inc gst; $1,200 inc gst per year
Registered Training Organisations
– RTO Institutional Members $1,100 inc gst per year
– Teachers in private and Government RTOs $129 inc gst each per year
Foundation Members
– Foundation Members pay quarterly or annually.
Promotional Memberships – Eg: Sustainable Salons Australia or Conference ‘One Month Free Trial’
– This membership allows non-member salons of ASWELL to experience Australasian Wellness Association membership with a one month free trial. To take up this special offer, the applicant’s credit card details will be supplied as per a normal ASWELL membership so that an account can be set up, however no charges will occur for the first 30 days. Upon the expiry of the one month trial period, the applicant’s credit card will be charged the monthly ASWELL membership price of $85.80 per month as agreement to commence an annual ASWELL membership. Should the applicant not wish to continue ASWELL membership, they must provide confirmation in writing to cancel the membership by contacting info@theASWELL.org.au prior to the end of the 30 day period. If ASWELL does not hear from the applicant in writing before the one month free trial expires, then the membership will continue with the aforementioned monthly payments from the applicant’s credit card for 12 months. This trial offer is for new members only, not current ASWELL members.
All member applications to ASWELL are to be approved by ASWELL Board. Should an applicant not be approved by ASWELL Board, any membership fees paid to ASWELL via ASWELL website will be refunded. The Board decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
ELIGIBILITY, APPLICATION AND ADMISSION FOR MEMBERSHIP
Any natural person or corporation committed to the objects of the Company may be a Member provided that they are either:
(i) a financial member of ASWELL Salon Select Program; or
(ii) employed in the industry and have paid the Annual Membership Fee determined by the Company from time to time; and
(iii) the person or corporation agrees in writing to provide a guarantee not exceeding ten dollars ($10.00) to defray such liabilities and expenses of the Company upon its winding up or dissolution; and
(iv) the application for membership has been accepted by the Board; and
(v) the name of the Member has been entered in the Register
All prices are on ASWELL website are in Australian Dollars.
Weekly or Monthly membership fees are payable via Secure Pay or Paypal.
Accreditation fees may be payable using Credit and Debit Cards, EFT & cheques
CREDIT & DEBIT CARDS
We provide Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners credit and debit cards online payment facilities. Payment is only debited from your card at time of transaction. All credit card transactions on this website are processed using eWay, a secure online payment gateway that encrypts your card details in a secure host environment.
Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)
EFT payment option is available to ASWELL members. Membership will only be actioned once funds have cleared in ASWELL account. Account details are:

Goods & Services Tax (GST)
All amounts shown on ASWELL website are GST inclusive
RETURNS, REFUNDS, CANCELLATIONS & EXCHANGES
Complaints must be notified in writing to ceo@theASWELL.org.au within 7 days of receipt of the goods or supply of materials or services.
You must notify us within 14 days of despatch date as recorded in your account if you have not received an item.
Please ensure the delivery address and receiver’s name for your order is accurate and complete (including any business name if shipping to a work address) as we are unable to change any details once the order has been placed. ASWELL will not take responsibility for any orders that go missing due to incorrect delivery information provided by you.
Please choose carefully as ASWELL will only refund your purchase if the goods purchased are faulty or not fit for purpose. ASWELL will resupply any faulty goods at no cost to the purchaser. Product descriptions describe the contents of the product and their application. It is your responsibility to select the product you deem suitable for your needs.
Refunds will be issued in the payment form originally used by the purchaser within 14 days.
Some products and services on ASWELL are commissioned to be designed or personalised for your specific needs. Mystery Shoppers are briefed specifically for your business and the payment fee cannot be refunded to the salon.
Due to the personalised nature of Mystery Shopper services and Mentor services for ASWELL members, we are unable to offer refunds or exchanges for these services. Should you wish to cancel an order for personalised products or services, ASWELL must be notified within 24 hours of the placement of the order (prior to the sourcing and briefing of the mystery shopper) – a 25% cancellation fee applies.
Whilst every effort is made to ensure the premium quality of products and services offered to ASWELL members, we reserve the right to alter the contents of the products or services ordered at our discretion.
Important Information
* if you want to return products purchased from ASWELL, you must contact us within 7 days of receiving your order, detailing your concerns.
* items should be returned in their original packaging to ensure they are adequately protected in transit. The purchaser is responsible for the freight costs of returning goods to ASWELL head office.
LIABILITY
Goods are classified as faulty if there is a manufacturing fault. Please note that items that are damaged as a result of wear and tear are not considered to be faulty. Where possible, we will offer to repair faulty items.

Transit
Whilst every effort is made to ensure goods are packaged carefully prior to despatch, ASWELL takes no responsibility for third party delivery services. Please note that it is your responsibility to nominate if transit insurance required at time of purchase. Insurance will be added to the invoice.
Force Majeure
ASWELL will have no liability to the purchaser in relation to any loss, damage or expense caused by ASWELL’s failure to complete an order or to deliver goods and services as a result of fire, flood, tempest, earthquake, riot, civil disturbance, theft, crime, strike, lockout, breakdown, war, the inability of ASWELL’s normal suppliers to supply necessary materials or any other matter beyond ASWELL’s control.
Non-Excludable Rights
The parties acknowledge that, under applicable State and Commonwealth law, certain conditions and warranties may be implied in these Terms and Conditions and there are rights and remedies conferred on the customer in relation to the provision of the Goods or of services which cannot be excluded, restricted or modified by agreement (“Non-excludable Rights”).
Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the law in force in the Australian Capital Territory and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that Territory and any courts which may hear appeals from those courts in respect of any proceedings in connection with these Terms and Conditions.
FILE STORAGE
ASWELL will provide digital files for your use as downloadable data from the resources library on ASWELL website, or via a digital delivery service to your email address. ASWELL will make the file available for the period of your 12 months membership whilst you are a financial member. ASWELL reserves the right to withdraw from the library any ASWELL documentation at any time, without notice.
Should a file supplied by ASWELL corrupt in any way, a replacement file can be re supplied from the library. ASWELL liability for artwork and digital files is limited to the replacement of the file. ASWELL takes no responsibility for third party printing or production from its digital files. It is the responsibility of the purchaser of the marketme artwork or digital file to proof the pre-production of the file when printing with a third party supplier.
We recommend that you make a copy of every digital file and archive separately as ASWELL takes no responsibility for the provision of the file following the termination of your membership or where your membership is unpaid.
COPYRIGHT
Copyright in all artistic and literary works authored by ASWELL remain the property of ASWELL and are licensed to you for reproduction purposes only. ASWELL materials cannot be resold or supplied for use by a third party.
Except as permitted by the Commonwealth Copyright Act 1968 (as amended) no part of this website may be reproduced, adapted, performed in public or transmitted in any form by any process (graphic, electronic or mechanical, including further copying, recording, taping or by a storage and information retrieval system) without the express written permission of ASWELL.
Nothing contained in the website should be construed as granting any licence or right of use of any trademark or part of any trademark displayed on this website without the express written permission of ASWELL or third party owner. Where ASWELL has supplied images to the member, usage rights of the images purchased must be adhered to by the customer who takes full legal responsibility for their use.
The information contained in this site may contain technical inaccuracies, typographical or bibliographical errors. All liability of ASWELL howsoever arising for inaccuracies or errors is expressly excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.
The purchaser hereby indemnifies and agrees to keep indemnified ASWELL against all liability, losses or expenses incurred by ASWELL in relation to or in any way directly or indirectly connected with any breach of copyright or of any rights in relation to copyright in such literary and artistic works supplied as aforesaid.
Then ASWELL provides digital artwork and document files for reproduction by the member only. Any reproduction by a third party without the consent of ASWELL will be in breach of copyright.
